Has there been any resolution to changing the thickness of Revit stacked walls without shifting the wall location in plan?
For as long as I have been using Revit it has always been an issue, if the lowest basic wall portion of a stacked wall changes thickness Revit defaults to a wall centerline justification; regardless of the aligning face of the stacked wall or the justification used in the model, and then distributes the thickness change to each side of the wall. This forces the wall core/finish faces to shift accordingly which then breaks numerous other model elements that are associated to the wall finish/ core boundaries (Roofs/Floors/Ceilings/Area Boundaries/etc.). Then all walls have to be manually moved back to the desired location and any broken or deleted model elements need to be recreated.
I have found one work around by creating a new basic wall with the changed thickness and swapping it for the original in the stacked wall then adding offsets for half the thickness changes to each of the basic wall locations within the stacked wall to cancel out the unavoidable shift, but this is not ideal and should not be necessary.
