Changing Lvl Height

So I need to change a the height of a  floor level. When I do so , the floor disappears.

I have to do this for several elements in the model which results in walls and floors dissapearing all the time.

I'm essentially changing the distance from joist to joist form 9 to 9 -1" . Half the building is suddenly dissapears.

Most of the elements are connected to their respective levels.

What's going on? How can I fix it without an extreme amount of pain or is this inevitable?

"disappearing"???  Are there any error messages thrown?  You sure you typed 9'-1" not 91'-0".  It happens.

so things aren't "disappearing". Revit is deleting them, just as warned.   You need to find out what elements are being effected by the operation, and constrain or host them differently before you change the level height. It's not that unusual to have to do this.

...how many Levels above? Go to Elevation View and pull a dimension between all the Levels above and lock the dimensions so they will move in unison.  I don't know if that works for you, but it would help.

Oh! You're are moving the level, not typing in a new elevation.
