No there is no OOTB option which allows you to change pattern of the extension lines...ONLY possible for Centerline extensions.
If it is a must must and you cant work with the solid extensions, you will need to use a Line based Detail component which report Length in a label ... then you can have extensions of any line pattern

That's a Centerline ... but Please do not advise him to overlay two Dimensions!!!

Nice try? Im not trying anything!!...
What you have there is a Centerline Dim without the centerline mark. The overlay of dims was referencing the workaround for the OP's question on Witness Line pattern for DIMS other than CL

OP asked: "Does Revit have any Capabilities for changing the witness line extension line type? Except for the Centerlines ."
I replied TO THE OP: "Like this?"
At this point, I'm waiting to hear back from the OP.
Stick around. You might learn something.
I think you are hoping that he never replies back ><

So to clarify, the screenshot:
Was of a dimension with no witness lines and separate lines drawn in with line type set to Center?
Was of a dimension with no witness lines and a separate centerline dimension was placed?
Was of a dimension with witness lines whose line types were changed to Center?
If it was the last, how did you do it and would it affect only one dimension style or all dimensions?
hello, sorry for bringing back a closed topic. But i would like to know how these dotted lines were achieved as I couldnt find any line styles for witness lines in additional settings. is it a work around or a built in option?
To those who go looking just for how to edit the dim style and find this
If you want to change the "witness lines" that's the lines that extend to the object being dimensioned its by clicking the dimension and then editing the type, then go to centreline pattern and select whatever line type you like
only thing is you cant do both in one go type thing as the original post kind was asking I think (just have two styles)
