Hi Team
I am wonder if you could change the project color when I work on two more projects at the same time.
For example, I open a central file and local file at the same time they are the same project. I can only identify both project by reading their name. But sometimes I will accidently work on the local file and not save in the central file which I will double up my works.
If you could introduce a function to change the tab view color when I open another file, it would be much helpful.
Thank you
Sam

There isn't a way out of the box to do this. There are two add-ins that I know of:
One is pyRevit https://github.com/eirannejad/pyRevit/releases/tag/v4.8.7
The other is Parallax Tabbed Views https://www.parallaxteam.com/product/tabbed-views-for-revit/
I love the Parallax version as it will also color the tabs based on the view type if only in one project
Great thought for a feature and great info about the add in!
+1 on this; multiple projects open while editing a family inside of a family can result in a lot of wasted time trying to figure out which is where.
@bchaney0927, I finally paid the $50 for Parallax, I see that they now have it at $75. It's great, but as Revit subscribers, we shouldn't have to pay for something like this. The Project Browser should have the capability of sorting the views by color as well. With all the black and white, you can't see the forest for the trees sometimes.
Man, $75 is too much for such an addon, i saw a similar addon on the blog http://revitaddons.blogspot.com/2022/01/oloring-tabs.html
In addition to coloring the tabs, there is also a preview of the views, which is very convenient.
And it only costs about $3 on the Autodesk App Store, not $75.

COLORING TABS
@josethompson921, agreed, $75 is ridiculous. I paid $50 and that was way too much but I had a presentation that I needed to do for the owner of the company and several others and had no time to waste to get prepared. They raised the price from $50 to $75 within a few weeks of me buying it, makes me wonder if they got excited that they sold one and upped the price. I wish I had known about the Add-in that you posted here but glad you left that link for others. I'll probably buy it today anyway and ditch the other.
Worked well, removed from app store due to ru developer & sanctions re RUSvUKR?
Thank you so much Jeremy for sharing it. How to access this Tab Coloring configuration?
No problem, best of luck with it! There are plenty of other great tools available in PyRevit as well.
To get to the setup of the colour tabs you need to expand the pyRevit dropdown (see image) and select settings.
then navigate to UI/UX.
Hi,
there is a new add-in Color Tabs, which enables tab colorization. In addition to that, you can close open project including all open tabs with a single mouse click. If you need tab colorization only, without other pyRevit tools, you might find Color Tabs helpful.
