I want to change the coordinates of a point. I have drafted a line to be able to pick up a point. When coordinates/specifying the coordinates of the point, Revit does not change the coordinates, help much appreciated!
Can you show us what you're doing? Your explanation is confusing.
I have a created a grid, see screenshot 1
I click on position/ specify coordinates at point/ 2
change this value
grid doesnt move...why?
I want to create a point in a specific coordinate, I have thought of creating one grid /changing N then creating another and change E so I have the intersection and point needed
I'm still confused. I have no idea of what you mean by "a point".
The Specify Coordinates at Point tool alters the Survey Coordinate System. If you provide alternate coordinates at a specific endpoint of a line or along a line the Survey Coordinate system "shifts" so those coordinates are valid for that location. You can't "see" those coordinates unless you use Report Shared Coordinates or apply a Spot Coordinate annotation (assigned to Shared Coordinates) to that point.

Select the Survey Point icon and move it (clipped) to that location and then use SPaC.

Specify Coordinates at Point (SPaC)... and Unclip the Survey Point before using SPaC otherwise it will move to mark the origin of the Survey Coordinate system instead...

Open question, maybe here is the problem:
Why in two projects having the same base point and angle to true north, two points give different coordinates??
Please see attached. I may not be able to sleep tonight!
Spot coordinate won't snap to an intersection. Are you certain it is snapping to the same actual location? Sketch a model line from the intersections and compare using the same spot annotation type.

Steve,
1. Yes what you see is from a model line sketched. I have no explanation for this.
2. On a separate matter how can I place a link manually in a sketched line point with specific coordinates?
Thank you
1 - can you share the files? It would be easier to "see" them to know. (Just save stripped versions grids only for example)
2 - You can position the Project Base Point to a specific location in both projects and then link using Project Base Point to Project Base Point.
Generally Revit project files should be linked origin to origin. That assumes one discipline takes the lead and their file starts everything and then shares there model with other teams for the correct context (like grid/levels). Then models all line up from the outset.
When teams don't start that way they can move the Project Base Point (PBP) to the same agreed on location in all models and then link each other's models PBP to PBP.
The survey coordinate system can get defined at any time during the process but one file needs to define the relationship to site and the others can inherit it from that file using Acquire Coordinates.

Steve,
I found why for the first point it was a units problem.
Is there any way to link it to a specific coordinate without moving the project base point?
Many thanks!
Not by picking or typing in coordinates. Link by Shared Coordinates does that but assumes the survey coordinate system has been configured and Acquire or Publish Coordinates have been used to configured the relationship.
Moving the PBP was deliberately configured to allow for placing models according to an agreed upon location separate from the shared coordinate system.

Steve,
Thanks very useful.
Please see sketch line with coordinates attached. I want to see where E80300.050 N35050.251 would be? is there any way of doing this instead of just moving the sketch line?
Thanks
Steve,
I have also been recommended to keep internal origin and project base point together, would that be a problem if I move the PBP in both?
"See" coordinates? No, not without putting something in the model you can attach a spot coordinate annotation on and then move to that location.
AutoCAD was built based on cartesian coordinates and in the old days we had to place things with that in mind. Revit was built deliberately to avoid having to "think" about cartesian coordinates while building the model. In other words, I just need a wall to go "this direction" 20 feet...
What are you trying to accomplish? What project problem are you trying to solve?
