Chair modeled in the family editor changes orientation when changing views in Re

I modeled a chair in the family editor and imported it into a drawing of an auditorium using a Level 1 plan view. After making several copies of the chair to fill the auditorium space, I changed to a 3D view. To my surprise, all the chairs were facing to the side instead of straight forward as I had them placed in the plan view. How is that possible? Does anyone have any idea how I might fix that issue?

I'm not following you, Bill. Let's see if I have this right.  You placed the chairs facing a particular direction in plan view and when you switched to 3D, they were all facing a different direction?

Ah! I think I may know what's going on. What you  see in Plan View is the Detail of the Chair and what you see in 3D is the Model of the Chair.  Go to family and change the direction the Detail is facing to match the Model.

How'd I do?  Good guess?

What's correct? That your geometry is not visible in Plan/RCP View as per the Visibility Setting in the Family -- and that only Symbolic Line Work is what shows in Plan/RCP View?

Sorry, I was on the phone and failed to read your entire post. I meant you were correct about the chairs changing direction in 3D view. I am applying your solution now. Will update you soon. Thanks for the help (again)
