Central file/local copy query

I recently graduated from architecture school, and am currently trying to revisit some old projects in order to increase the model and rendering quality. The problem I am having is that one of the projects I am trying to work on was a collaborative project in which we used a central file.

However, now that I am no longer at school and connected to the server, the central file is no longer accessible. Apparently the last time I saved the project (2013) my Autodesk ID was B.Broaddrick, whereas now it is my current email address. Whenever I try to save the local file, a dialog box stating that "the project cannot be saved because the user name you are using is not the same as the user who created the local file."

Any thoughts on how I could solve this problem?

You could try to do a Save As under a different file name.  Or you could go into the Options dialog and temporarily reset your user name to what it was previously, and then open the file, make changes and save it.

I'd just use the Detach from Central option in the Open File dialog. Once the project is open then use Save to create a new central file on your own computer which will then use whatever your current username happens to be.

If you've made changes you want to keep at this point then do as David recommends, Save As - Check the option to make this the new central file and give the file a new name in a good folder.

Thank you both for your responses... you've been a great help. I'm a bit embarrassed that it was such an easy fix. The more you know.
