Ceiling is in the RCP but it is not viewed

Dear Experts,

I am new in Revit.  So, I am preparing a set of initials plans for a defined product. So, one of them is the RCP, I had drafted the ceiling tiles but I can not see them and I think that views are properly set. On Ceiling plans level 1 and 2 is not see. I now that is there, because, I tried to overlay another ceiling gave me the double-counting message.

what are you using as a ceiling material?

when you say Drafted do you mean actually drawn the lines?

use the ceiling tool and select the Sketch Ceiling tool draw you outline then assign the correct material

Ceiling_Material.png

then confirm your visibility settings are correct, make sure VISIBLE is checked

Ceiling_Pattern.png

as @dzanta recommended check your View Range

It could be the view template … try the following:

  1. Start a new project from the default Architectural Template (same Revit session)
  2.  Open an RCP Plan and place a ceiling (same height as per your original project) and check if it is visible as expected …If it is visible
  3. Go to Tab View >> View Template >> Create view template from Current View
  4. Go to your original project >>> Manage Tab >> Transfer Project Standards and pull the new RCP view template from the open project of step 1
  5. Apply the new template to the RCP views

Thanks a lot!

I do not know if I can do this because is a shared file it is in a central location and it is input for other Architects.

Maybe have your company bim manager look at it then. But you wouldn't/shouldn't overwrite existing templates in the shared project, and actually just add that one to it, you could probably remove all other templates in the temporary file to just transfer the one... give it a unique name... maybe check if your template type is set to ceiling aswell btw...

Mate! you are just applying a new view template...that will neither kill your central model nor overwrite your current template. If it works then your initial view template has some setting which is messing up the view...you could then fix it or ask a more experienced user to fix it for you!

Trying is better than an endless guessing game

Dear Jedi, I did it and it works!

Another way that I was in mind was to copy as individual level 1  and phased in the correct and renamed as RCP. What do you think about it? well in my case it is in level one of the building the ceiling... :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

I say that you are the only one among us who can see what is on your screen and if you say it works and that you are happy, then we are all happy for you too :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:
