when i want to make or download families it opens the empty folder. how can i fix this and reinstall all the lost families ?
The file path for the family templates (which are the files used when you want to make a new family) is controlled in the Revit options menu. To access this, click the "R" in the top left corner of the Revit window, then click Options (circled in red in the image below):
Then go to File Locations in the left side of this menu, then click the middle of the lower options, called "Default path for family template files":
Select the file path, which should be something like this, with the year of Revit you are using:
This path may be different depending on where you chose to locate the files when you downloaded Revit.
To find the files Revit comes with, you likely have a shortcut like this when you click the "Load Family" button:
To get here, use the same file path as in the third image, only go to the "Libraries" folder instead of the "Family Templates" folder.
Not content in content library folders? You sure? Investigate contents of folders through Window's Browser. If you serious have not content, go to this link:
so if you keep digging down the directory tree you don't see any RFA file folders?
if you go to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2020\Libraries\US Imperial\Casework\Base Cabinets you don't see any family files like below.
