I want to make a L shaped ramp with the landing at the bend, but I don't want this extra extension.
So I delete that line and move the horizontal leg down, but then I get this error message.
I know I can get as close as a I can with nudging (and I'm fine with that if it's the only option) but there's no way Revit just can't do a simple, proper L shaped ramp with out having to fudge it.
What can I do?
Don't delete the line - just align it.
I find it helps to mark out the centreline of the ramp beforehand, and then I can start my second run in the correct place.
That didn't work for me, the ramp will not draw like that, it doesn't do a automatic landing the same way as a stair.
Same thing happens with winders. Your nudge workaround is valid -- though funky, I know.
So there really is no clean way to make a L shaped ramp? Kinda crazy for Revit to not have something so simple figured out, but so is life.
I guess I get it though, that turn corner is kinda in a bad spot because its made of two lines that slope but its on a plan that is flat.
Well it draws like that for me every time. I mark out the centrelines first.
Its working fine now, no issues. I'm not doing anything I didn't try yesterday.

Inside sketch mode. It's a little padlock hovering above the sketch lines. If it's locked it could prevent you from making those boundary/riser lines contiguous. If you got it working and the lines are contiguous, the Padlocks are probably unlocked. If you edit sketch, lock them and try to close out of sketch mode, Revit will likely throw an error. You would either unlock the Padlock or move the Riser Line slightly to resolve error.
thanks for posting your L ramp revit file, I couldn't make the ramp work, so I was able to open your file, create my ramp and then copy/paste it into my file... strange but it worked, so thank you!!
