Got thrown in the middle of this. So I'm currently taking a hotel model that was drawn in 2009 revit, I don't know why, I'm tasked with upgrading this model to 2022 and then importing the finished model into a client's template.
I can't get this done, and I need someone to help walk me through it. I can't group the project, and doing it by floors is impossible as when I break it up it creates more issues. So I feel like I'm stuck trying to link bind this model but it just seems like 3 hours to complete this process is too long. Whenever I have been successful on the link bind the silly wall sweep error comes up and it won't give me an option to delete or anything. But I don't want to gut this drawing just to get it to work. HELP.

Why not do the other way where you import project standard from the client template into the upgraded model?
For now, I can link, but when I go to bind it gets to 100% but SEEMS to stop there at processing:extending changes to group, but stays on this step for hours.
Can you open the 2009 model in Revit 2022 with Audit option checked and let Revit upgrade it? And you mentioned binding link, where does that step come from?
I didn't do the audit option, I have to bind this linked into their worksheet document so the architects can make there changes. So simply linking it won't work, I have to have a workable model in their template
Now I'm trying to load it as a group.... hopefully this works, but I'll try auditing next.
There seem to be two problems:
1. Upgrading a model from 2009 to 2022
2. Bring the upgraded model to the architect's template
I can see that you are still stuck at (2), but can you clarify if you have successfully done with (1)?
I was successful with the upgrade, I can not for the life of me upload into their template.
Whenever I get close to being successful on the upload it simply states 2 errors involving wall sweeps and then doesn't allow me to finish as they MUST be corrected(says who). I've tried doing it floor by floor, and 2 floors have this problem. I tried link binding, I even tried copy and paste. Is there not a cut dry way to do this? Haha

- open the upgraded model and the template in the same Revit session
- set the model as the current working window and run Transfer Project Standards
Does it not work?
I tried that, but I'm guessing since it is a workshare document they gave me I can't simply upload their info or assign their template as mine for the model

Workshared or not is not an issue? What errors are you getting?

I don't understand the gymnastics. Why don't you just hand over the 2022 to the client? Or are you supposed to go through Project and change Family Types, Line weights, Materials, View Templates, Object styles, Annotation styles, Color Fill Schemes, Fill Patterns, Print settings, etc., etc., etc.? Basically anything and everything in the Project that deviates from the client's own standards?
They're unable to because of these errors, so I'm trying to correct it for them and get it uploaded
