I downloaded the plug in, installed it with no errors, restarted computer, and still don't see the tool in my ribbon under add ins. A consultant of mine has Revit 2016 and his export function is located in his Revit home menu under the "R". Help please.
Mine is located in the External Tools flyout on the Add-Ins tab, as well as an Export option on the Application menu.

Are the Exporters showing in your Windows Start menu? I would try to download and install again. Sounds like something just went awry in the install process.

Do you have this?
Nope, that's the problem. I even "installed" from the app store still no luck.
Strange...usually if you download and save to your local machine, it works better than running it from the website. Do you have administrator privileges, or does running it as an administrator make a difference?

Is your REVIT 2016 up to date? Can u check and provide build number or verify it against the list provided by AUTODESK on THIS LINK
if if it is not uptodate...do consider to do that and then recheck if your plug in works

I see this problem hasn't been marked with a solution yet, I experience the exact same thing. I have installed the separate Navisworks Exporter (Autodesk_Navisworks_Exporters_2016_Multilingual_Win_32_64bit_r2_dlm.sfx), and have the lates 2016 build (16.0.1161.0). No NWC-option in Export, nor any External Tools under Add-ins.
Finally!
I uninstalled all the exporters, restarted the computer, and reinstalled the Exporter. Now I just installed the 64bit Exporter. Not sure if this was the trick, it's possible I had Revit open when installing the Exporter initially, which might have caused the trouble. No warning to shut down Revit was given though...
