Cannot 'tab' to select Revit Link

I'm running into an issue where I cannot use tab to select a Revit link outside of a 3D view. This is an issue for both myself, and other users within the model. It's not across all of the linked models, just models that are being linked today. So I have a host model, a functioning link, and a broken link. I need to be able to use tab to select individual elements to view their properties and parameters. As far as I can tell, I've matched the properties of the broken link to the functioning link without any change in it's functionality.

I can select the link by using an area style selection, like dragging the mouse while holding.

So far I've tried to detach, and reattach the link. I've tried to link in another model entirely, this one also couldn't be tab selected. I've changed the workset it's on to the linked model that can be selected via tab. I've put it on entirely new worksets. I've triple checked my selection settings (within ribbon window and bottom right). It's not pinned. The phases of the models match, and are identical across the host, functioning link, and broken link. It's not being embedded within a design option.

I can manage what is being shown by modifying the view template/VG settings, but whether it's <by host view> or <Custom> it doesn't change whether or not I can tab to select. EI I can turn the grids on/off.

The workset is not visible globally, but I have it set to 'Show' in my view template(s).

Any thoughts? I can't share model itself unfortunately, but I'm happy to post any screen shots that might help.

Hi,

Sounds like you tested most common issues, so you can TabSelect it in a 3D view.

Any chance a Filled Region or Dwg link is in the linked model preventing selection, or a Underlay?

- And what do you mean with "Broken Link", none of it's elements can't be visible then!

- Nested Links?

- "Set workset to show in viewtemplate"? => The elements ARE visible I assume?

- Set up a Floorplan, make sure the links VG settings are set to host view, turn all categories off (also annotation, imports etc) except Walls. Can you now TabSelect a Wall?

- Else post a screenshot.

- Michel

So, I had exited the model and went back in, and it all seems to be working how I would suspect. I can tab select elements from the linked model in question in plans... To answer your questions anyways:

I can tab select individual elements in a 3D view.

No underlay's present on the drawings I've been looking at, doubtful it's a filled/masking region or DWG link. It happens whether I'm selecting a model element or annotation element like a grid line.

It's wasn't working as expected, or as other links, ipso facto, broken!

There are nested links, I'm linking an electrical model, and they have my architectural model linked.

Elements, model and annotation categories are visible.

Doing that floor plan thing, I could tab select a wall.

Images attached anyways. I have no idea what happened but I really appreciate your time and effort. Wish I took some screenshots earlier!
