Cannot synchronize with central

I keep getting this error message when trying to sync to central. I don't have any other files open. Does anyone know how to correct the problem. I don't want to lose my work and i need to update for my fellow co worker.

Do save locally.

I would start with some basic housekeeping -

1) Clear out your locals (I would hang on to the latest local from this project JIC)

2) In the Windows search box - type %temp%. Clear out all temp files

3) Empty Recycle Bin

4) Restart your computer

Other things to look at -

Solution:

  • Click on "Close" and wait for the model to open. Sometimes, if several linked models were deleted, you need to click on the "Close" button multiple times and wait for the model to open;
  • When the model is opened, reload the linked files again.

Are you sure that you are not in the central model? If you did not open a detached copy this could be the case.

If you are in a local copy, and you are the last person to edit the file, and no one else has it open, you can save your local copy as the new central model.

Please note, this will override the central model, any changes made by others that were not synced into your model will be gone.

If you choose to proceed, the steps are as follows:

1. Revit --> Save as --> Project

2. Navigate to file location

3. Select the file to override

4. Select options

5. Check make this a central model

6. Ok --> Save

7. Close the model (after saving you would be in the central model)

8. Open up a local copy to make any further edits

I just wanted to follow up here, any progress on this issue?

A Synchronize with Central operator may fail for several reasons, please see HERE and HERE for more information.
