I am working in Revit Arch and need to show wires running from my switches to lighting or to switched wall outlets. However I cannot select the opposite end of switch or outlet that isnt on the wall side. I need to get the program to recognize these ends so I can snap a arc to them. I've attached an image for reference.
Does anyone know how this can be done?
Thank you!
John
I don't believe there is a way for this to be accomplished in Revit. Your best bet would be to show the wire going to the insertion point if it is not a huge issue. Another option would be to either "eye-ball" it close or to use a detail line to create an endpoint.
To use a detail line, you can start the detail line command (DL) and snap to the insertion point/endpoint that connects to the wall (SE). From here you will want to draw it the same distance as the straight line protruding from the wall. You can find the exact dimension within the family editor. This will create an endpoint at the end of the switch symbol. From there you can attach the wire to the end and delete the detail line if you so choose.
I'm not sure, but there may be a way to allow the detail line to scale with the symbol. Possibly some form of parameter? Maybe you could draw the line and lock the endpoints? I'm not extremely familiar with electrical detail items, just trying to help as best I can.
