Hi, I am trying to link an ifc file into revit. The ifc file comes from the building-smart website example (url: http://www.buildingsmart-tech.org/implementation/get-started/hello-world/example-1)which is generated by code:
and I can open and view the ifc file by ifcViewer and navisworks:
However I cannot open/link this file into revit(both 2016 and 2018, and ifc latest plug-in added), when I tried to open/link the ifc file, nothing happens. I googled and found this thread: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/rvt2018-can-t-open-link-ifc-files-failed-to-...
I followed the instrution to download a rte file but still failed in opening the ifc file. By the way the file size is very small so should not be the size problem.
I have appended the ifc file in the attachment (the website does not support .ifc file as valid extension so I added the .txt extention, if you download the file, just use the .ifc extension) and hope if any one could help me with it.
It opens for me no problem (Open=>IFC). I opened it in 2019 and 2017. So, now you know it opens. What version of Revit are you using? Do you have at least one Template in the drop-down under Options=>File Locations?
I use both revit 2016 and 2018, neither of them failed: I can open the file but revit shows nothing.
the IFC Options Screenshot is as follows:(I used a template):
