cannot edit stair and slab elements

in Revit 2024.3, I can't edit stairs and slabs. Even though I tried to create a new slab, it cannot finish the process (the tick mark doesn't work). Then, Revit shuts down and shows the problem window ID:80051680.

Does anyone have the same problem?

- This is windows update error code so update your windows.

- repair the revit.Open Control Panel > Programs and Features.Find Revit 2024, right-click, and choose Repair.

- Go to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 2024 and delete all Journals files.

restart and try again.

- post your model here or try with another computer

- upgrade to 2025

Window ID: 80051680 error typically indicates a crash in Revit due to issues like:

  • Corrupt Windows user profile or Revit settings (Solution: log in as a different user on windows and re-try what you described)
  • Add-in conflicts (Solution: disable add-ins)
  • Graphics driver issues (Soultion: update your GPU's drivers)
  • Corrupt model or linked files (Solution: Try to Audit the files)

To know what exaclty was it, one has to check the Journals. If you already deleted as suggested by Azad, then it is too late and you would need to go with trial and error. You should never delete the Journal files and if you must, you need to back them up first.

@RDAOU @azad.Nanva
Thank you for providing the solution.

Initially, I attempted to update Windows 11 and reinstalled Revit 2024 with update 3.1.

I tried to copy the error elements and paste them into a new isolated Revit file.
The issue of slab and stair elements persisted.

After methodically removing add-ins one at a time, I discovered that the latest version of DiRoots might be causing the error.
