I am trying to cut a roof family in an assembly with a generic model. When I click "Finish Model" a notification comes up saying, "invalid order of phases: an object cannot be demolished before it was created". But the demolition phase for the void and the assemblies are set to none, with the phase created set to existing. See below.
What am I doing wrong here?

Check the Phase you are creating the void in vs that which the roof was created in...Set the proper Phase Filter in the view where you are working...Using None is no good in such case
Alternatively...Instead of a void, try to use the Opening tools which are on the ribbon (These inherit the phase of the host they are cutting so they should rid you of that error
From just those images you posted it is hard to tell...if you can share the .rvt it would be easier to check

That was very helpful, thanks. I checked the roof phase and it was different from the assembly phase. So I have copied those roof's and pasted them because I could not change the roof phases in the edit assembly mode. Now that the phase created is set to new construction and the demolition phase is set to none, it cuts fine.
