Cannot create stairs on floor plan view (level 1)

Can anyone please help me, when I try to add a stair on my floor plan, there's a message pop up saying "Go to View, in order to edit the stair, please open one of the following views where stair will be seen to the screen.", and I got the options to choose all my other plan view except for my level 1.

I don't remember I touched any settings. 😞

Can you show the properties of the Level 1 plan view?

Thanks for your message, it's 1am here now, I will post a screenshot tomorrow for you to have a look. Just for your ref, before I shut down Revit, I have duplicated my level 1 plan view, then I am able to create stairs on that duplicate view, I don't know why. Although I am able to continue my project, but I would like to understand the issue throughly.

Yes, that's the pop up options I got, but I checked VV, stairs has been ticked, and nothing is hiding from the level 1 view. even the property browser looks the same to other plan views. I tried to add a stair on 3D and select the base as level 1, I go back to level 1 plan view, I can see that stair and can select it. Just could not add stair from level 1 floor plan view.

Can you scroll down and show the rest of the properties, and also the view range settings?

Please see the screenshot below.

1. Level 1 floor plan, cannot create stair

2 & 3. Level 1 property setting

4. Duplicated view of level 1, stairs can add without any issue.

I have added the rest of the properties, and VR is the same as other levels, but I attach here anyway for you to have a look.

Nothing looks out of place so far.  Can you go back to LEVEL 1 view, click Set Work Plane and see what the current Work Plane is?

You know, it would be a whole heck of a lot easier to help you troubleshoot if you posted the RVT here for us to inspect. You're welcome to do that. Know how?

Here's the file. I tried to ask the tutor from school tonight, and she could not solve it nor identified the problem.

She told me to save a back up file and then just delete the Level 1 floor plan, carry on working on the duplicated level 1 plan which I mentioned before.

Appreciated if you guys can have a look.

Thanks a lot.

Just as I said earlier, the workplane of LEVEL 1 is not valid for placing the stair.  Change it back to LEVEL 1 then you are all good.

Thank you so much!!!
But that's really strange, I am a student just start Revit course at school, I remember I set a workplane for adding beam system to that entrance roof (which is on level 1), that will affect the whole floor view? I just followed what our lecturer showed us to do the other day, clicked the beam system and then pick a workplane (bottom of the roof), then click a "show" button to confirm the correct workplane has been select. That's all I did. But actually when I click the "show" button, the light blue color workplane seems really faraway from the building and really small, I had to drag it all the way to the roof area. I could not find an answer for that as well.
Anyway thanks again for solving this problem, you are amazing.
