Cannot create a railing using a complex (spline) line

Hi all,

I am trying to create a standard railing (900 mm pipe - like in the picture). However my floor outline was created using a spline tool and it seems impossible for me to do this as I cannot pick the path while creating a new railing.

I have attached the 3d image and plan to show the area where I need the railing to be created.

How can I overcome this very complex yet basic problem?

First of all, even though it is possible to make it using an adaptive components approach, I’d make that floor using arcs only. Two reasons:

1. Easier to document for construction purposes. Spline cannot be dimensioned, including radial dimensions,
2. Easier to create a railing.

Just my two cents.
