I have a drafting view with three details - A,B,and C. Is there a way to reference this drafting view in other views so that after its detail number you can add a subgroup to reference the A,B, and C? The A, B, and C doesn't have to be smart - just need the root detail number to be.

I am not quite sure I understand your question entirely, but I will throw this in just in case...

You can reference a callout to use a drafting view detail by ticking 'Reference other View' in the contextual ribbon that shows when you are about to place a callout.

Select your detail from the drop down list. You can change the detail number in the properties of the view once placed on a sheet. See 'Detail Number' in the properties when you select the view on the sheet.

The other solution you might be after is 'View Reference' tool found on the 'View' ribbon on the 'Sheet Composition' panel. You may need to tweak the family.

If I have misunderstood, can you explain the last part again? I might be able to assist more.
