Can you have one family that contains multiple categories?

So - not sure if its possible - but say you have a security camera that needs a data drop - can you create one family that can contain both categories so when you place it - the security camera shows on the security drawing and the data drop shows on the telecom drawing?

Right now it is either 2 separate families and you place a data drop on the security camera and then need to remember to adjust the location when the camera moves. Other option is using the camera symbol on the telecom sheet to represent the data drop.

I appreciate your thoughts.

You can't think AutoCAD and run Revit.

Yes.  Nested shared families of different categories in one host family.

@ToanDN  - I have tried that - things did not go well. i could not get the correct family to show on the correct view.

i used a generic family to pull the security and data family's into.

Then it's your view's VG settings.  Give an example model and how you want what to look in a view then we can go from there.
