Can you format a sheet view within a Drafting View for a detail?

I want to be able to inventory the details that I use on an individual project ...

For example ....

Said details would be laid out on a sheet grid ... 30x42 for example

But then the details would also be formatted at 8.5x11 ...

So I could print both the 30x42 sheet and the 8.5 detail cutsheets as a package ...

Of course I would be looking to creat a sheet format so I could later include other data that may also be linked to a detail index .... but first steps first

No. You have to duplicate the view and place the copy on 8.5*11. If it does not fit, you have to shrink it by scale or other measures, such as delete the detail cell frame (as you described on the other thread).

Ok ... I was aware that with revit I can print sheets and views ...

I thought perhaps I could include a 8.5x11 border around the detail cell (5.5x6) ... and then have the view cropped so when it's dragged into the sheet .... the periphery information on the Drafting view would be cropped out ....

I just want to avoid the folly of duplicate views on having to update two or multiple locations ...

Of course maybe I missing that the Drafting view can have core information that it connected to both ...

I am looking to can the detail cutsheet to be preset so when I create the detail ... the view on the cutsheet is also done ....

Perhaps I have the Drafting view and the detail cutsheet already linked as a view and sheet template .... that can be quickly multipled

Yes you can print a view and a sheet with that view placed on separately. But you can't crop drafting views and you can't print a view at the correct scale unless you place it on a sheet.

When I print a view ... is there an option to print the view name (in the lower left corner for example) ... that way I can know it's name?
