Renaming the file itself will not have any effect. Revit does not retain knowledge of the source file of a shared parameter. All that matters is the GUID that is associated with the shared parameter.

Thanks yeah is that shared parameters are so "Delicate" with all their Handling rules, one might be afraid of doing so. Thanks I will rename the file as you recommended.
