Good morning all, I just realized today that it's impossible to use Selection Box on a Revit Linked file.
Is there a reason for that limitation ? Could it be solved by a hotfix ?
Process= Link Revit model
Select Linked Revit model
Try to do a selection box
Blocked/Failure
Thanks for any help

Crop the Plan View around that specific area, go to 3D View and Orient View to that View and then select the Section Box and change its top/bottom extents.
Thanks but that's a work around, a long one. Autodesk needs to let us do more things with Linked Revit files, I just realized that you can't change the transparency either. We need to ask for more functionality.

Also, if you are trying to create a section box of a wall (or anything that can be created parts from), then create parts then create section box of the selected parts.

What's stopping you from asking? Go over to the Ideas Forum and start a new Thread. If it garners enough votes, maybe Autodesk will put on the Roadmap for a future release. Maybe you'll see it by 2025, 2026, 2027? In the meantime, workaround will have to suffice.
By the way, the "workround" is 2 steps. Maybe you misread it? Orient 3D View to View and adjust the extents of the Section Box. 5-seconds tops, including coffee and bathroom breaks.
