Can't Unload my Linked archive

Hello, I have a project in which I linked an arquiteture file in the beginning, but now I can't unload this file and update it

When I click "unload" it goes alright, but the walls were suposed to disapear so I could insert another updated link file, but they won't disapear. I've already had this problem before and I had to start my project all over again

Note: When I open my project, the link already shows that red X down there as though my link was unloaded, but it is loaded!!! The linked project is the house itself, so it is loaded. And when I unload, this house is suposed to go away but it won't. I have already tried just to Screenshot_1.png

Let's take a look at it. Post the Files.

...did you Copy/Monitor Links Walls at some point?

...What's the status of the Link shown under Manage Links (Insert Tab)?

Thank you for answering me

I'm afraid I can't share the file because it is for a real client and it isn't finished yet

But I recorded a quick video for you showing every step I took to link the file. I also put my Revit in english so you can understand it better, here is the link https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1uPPJ-OKqRIP2_D_nEkjDMQzxU8sVPFBi?usp=sharing

Here's the procedure:

1. Open the template as a new project

2. Link the project

3. collaborate > copy/monitorate > copy> tick the "multiple" box > select all the levels in the elevation view
4. click on the small finish first, then in the big green one

5. plan views (view tab) >  floor plan > select it all > ok
6. open the blue print view > select it > bind link > ok
7. Select the blue print view again and then select ungroup, so can move the forniture and stuff

8. It is done, now I save it as a new project

I think the problem is in the end, in the way I save it, but I don't know where exactly

Oh, forgot to reply the last question: it is "unloaded"

Why unload? Go to Insert > Manage Links > thee Reload the Link with the updated version.

I have done the basics of linking projects, here's a video showing every step https://drive.google.com/drive/u/3/folders/1uPPJ-OKqRIP2_D_nEkjDMQzxU8sVPFBi
I also put my Revit in english, so you guys can understand it better

Basically, when I finish the steps everything works fine, but once I close my saved file and open it again later, the link isn't thre anymore. That red X shows up indicating that there is no loaded link, although the house still there

I can't post the files here because it is from a real client

Thank you guys for answering.

Your workflow is confusing and unnecessary. Why do you link a project in. copy monitor the levels, then bind the link? What is the goal? Linking is meant to keep an external model in your project model for coordination, for adding your content using it as the background. For example, MEP engineer links the Arch model in to place their MEP equipment and fixtures. Or an interior designer links the ARch model in to place finishes and furniture.

Keeping the external model as a link so that you can reload it using the steps I written in the previous post to update when you receive a new version. Biding it then you cannot update it and have to repeat all your work.

Just strip out any client identifying info.  You can  group and save out of the project, to a different file, just the pertinent info and post that file here.

Oh, I don't know, it is just the steps they taught me. I used to bind the link because then I cant move and hide the forniture and stuff easily. They taught me to do it so I could have a better interaction with the project itself. For example, if I'm going to do hydraulic project (I don't know the exact name in english, but is the project of the pipes, water tank and taps of the house) then I need to interact with the things in the file, It can't be just a immovable background, otherwise I can't link the pipes with the taps.

That's the only problem then? I should stop the linking proccess at the "plan view" part? Is that it? I didn't know

We call that a "BIM" project 'round here.  FWIW.
