Can't set workplane on modified floor

Hello,

I'm trying to model a floor slab which has a bit of an unusual shape, kind of like a bowl:

Not much to it, I did the floor slab, and then modified sub-elements to get the required shape.

Only problem is that now I'm trying to do some finer detailing using generic sweep void families (I need to cut a few decorative lines into the slab bottom). Since those sweeps have to follow the shape of the slab in order to cut into it, what I do is I set them to "place on face", offset, cut and go from there.

I can place the sweep family without any trouble on the two side faces and the center face. But when I try to place on the top and bottom face, nothing. The cursor turns into the circle with the line across it and won't allow me to place anything.

I also tried to set the work plane to faces... same thing. Two side and center faces perfect, top and bottom, no way I can pick that plane.

Anybody know what might be wrong here, and how I could fix it? Slab model's attached (rvt2018).

Because those two are not planes. They are warped.

Have you got more details or an image of what you are trying to achieve?
