I'm busy placing 2 different structural beam system in different directions and in 2 different colors. The beam family being used are created in 2 different colors but when they are uploaded to the project they come out the same color.
See image:
- profiles with fixed spacing 1000mm are the primary profiles (should be red)
- profiles with fixeed spacing 400mm are the secondary profile (should be blue)
How can I fix this situation.
Thanks you in advance.
Set up a Filter in your View.
Since you have beam families already created as Red and Blue-- ( how did you make them different colors? Material? Paint?)
Set color for Structural Framing "Red" to Red.
Set color for Structural Framing "Blue" to Blue.
The apply Filter in your View.
Yep--like I mentioned in my post above?![]()
@WEC17 @cbcarch Thank you both for the replies, but I tried making and setting filters but it wasn't working.
But what I did was, I went back to the families I made and gave them 2 different materials (steel 1 & steel 2) with the same colors red and blue. After doing this I got what I through with it. See picture.
Thank you guys for your replies, will remember them in case I come acros a similar problem ![]()

How were they originally created to use two different colors? This information would be helpful to know to be able to replicate it in your Project.
If the Beams are linked into your Project, then maybe simply changing the Link to display BY LINKED VIEW, would solve the issue.
