Can't select columns and walls when linked CAD file is loaded

I'm having a peculiar issue. I have just started a project. Linked my CAD file in: all views, all layers, at first floor. In the first floor plan I've drawn a floor, some columns, column grids, and a few walls. When the CAD file is loaded I can't pick my columns or walls. I have to window select. I've tested it pinned with select pinned elements off and on, and I've also tried it with the select linked elements on and off. The grids still highlight and so does the floor, but not the columns and walls. When I unload the CAD file I can now pick select my columns and walls. The CAD is located at 0'-0". I've even moved the CAD to -6" but still the issue persists. There are no design options, no worksets yet.

Any ideas?

My first thought when I read the title was to turn of Select Linked Items. But you've already tried that.

Are you sure you didn't place structural walls and columns with the Depth option selected instead of the Height option? If you did that your items may be below the CAD file? Seems unlikely.

Can you hover over them and use the Tab key to pick them?

Unfortunately this isn't the problem either. The columns and walls are all drawn correctly with the Height in the positive direction. I'm going to send the file to Autodesk support.

I have the same problem. No solution so far. Can select columns and walls only after hiding the CAD-File.

The problem seems to be related to the DWG-Hatches. After deleting the AutoCAD hatches walls and columns turn blue as usual with the CAD-Underlay turned on.

@cholden  Hi,

I find its best to not attach links but rather overlay them when linking into REVIT.  Was this the only project this occurred?

I turned off the CAD hatch layer in visibility graphics and it works now!

Thanks.

This is a new behavior, I do not remember linked DWG impacting plan views in this way.

And yes, turning off the hatches in the DWG import will revert to regular behavior.

Wondering if this will be fixed in some point release...

thanks
