Can't select certain elements

I'm having some trouble with certain building elements in my model.  For some reason there are times where I cannot select a specific component in any way.  Other people at my firm can select these elements even if they are pinned, but I can't even select them to unpin them. I can drag a box across or right click and still nothing happens.  This is getting frustrating because I keep having to interrupt my work to get others in my office to complete simple tasks like adjusting a floor profile or hiding column.  I tried restarting the program and it still doesn't work.  Please Help!

Does this happen all the time? On different projects? On different machines? To different users?

I've only seen it happen on my machine.  It will be different from project to project but most commonly it is a certain part of the floor that I cannot select but others can on their machines.  I can restart my computer and reopen the file and it still doesn't work.  It doesn't happen all the time and it doesn't have an easy to follow pattern.  Could my Revit be glitching out somehow?

Does TAB-Click even not work?

Tab-click does not work.  The elements I am looking at don't even turn blue when I mouse over them.  For legal reason I do not think I can share the file

Check the settings at lower right hand of screen.

Yep that was exactly the problem.  I had the pinned elements selection turn off.
