Can't see studs

Hi, I'm just starting out with Revit. I'm just practicing with stud walls. How do I view the studs through the walls? I created the stud under structural framing in the families section. I've tried everything.

Thanks

Can you elaborate on your problem?

Your 3D view shows studs that don't seem to start at the right height - is this what you're referring to?  If so, set the relevant base and top constraints and offsets.

Are you referring to a different view (elevations or plans)?  Note that the actual studs will show in a view when set to fine detail.  At course details you will see lines or symbols.

Hi Tim

I've shown the studs protruding out of the wall to show they are there, they start at the floor level. I want to modify the studs around the door and windows but I can't see them in the 3d view. I've hidden the wall in this view but the studs aren't showing in the wall area.

Thanks

Go to VG > structural connection > shear stud.Capture.PNG

Are you sure that they start at floor level?  Your 3D view seems to show the studs not starting at floor level.  Try to detach them to see if that helps.

I've tried that XXalessio.amodioXX and it didn't work. I've attached the properties to the section I created

Hi Tim, I've deleted the wall to show the studs

Those show that the studs have the correct top and bottom constraints.  However, attaching them will override these.  Select a stud and type 'HI' which will isolate it - check if it's correct. (type HR to show the other elements again)

OK, didn't see your previous post.  The studs look fine.

Revit won't show the studs through solid objects unless the view is set to wire-frame (or the element has some transparency) - is this what you mean?

If not working try to design the wall as structural wall and structural column. Your family seems just column

I think that whats happening is the studs are constrained by the wall - they are attached to the top of the wall.  When you delete the wall then they revert to the base constraint.  Try hiding your wall (HI) to verify this.

Yes, like that.  Try to detach them.

I've tried highlighting the stud and then clicking the Detach/Top Base. It didn't work

Disjoin geometry between the wall and the studs.
