I'm trying to move the curtain wall in this project 1500 mm south so that it fits snugly to the stair walls but the warning prevents me from doing so. See image below, as well as attached rvt file.

....instead of using the Move tool, just nudge it (e.g. use the arrow keys) until the warning pops up, then back it up one nudge.
Reset profile of the wall, move the curtain 1500 mm to align with the wall and it will cut the opening automatically. No warning nothing.
Attached is the file in Revit 2022 format.
I approached it a little differently. I Clipboard Cut the Basic Wall at the Stairs, moved the Curtain Wall into place, and then Pasted from Clipboard Aligned to same Place. Seemed to do the trick. You be the judge.
I reset the profile of the wall, moved the curtain wall and changed back the profile of the wall to what it was before and it works. The curtain wall is meant to be in a new phase than the existing wall-on-stair.
Question: why did Revit complain?
Six of one; half dozen of another. I think I may have you beat by 9/10s of a second - but yours is snug as a bug in the rug. ![]()
But I thought curtain walls do not need a host if you can move them around in space? Does Revit force curtain walls to become hosted if they are moved to a wall? I didn't want this curtain wall to be hosted at all.

No. A curtain wall is not necessary be hosted by a wall. Yours curtain wall type is set to Auto Embed so it cut the wall automatically when they are at the same place on plan.
If you want existing wall with the edited profile, simple edit the CW type and clear Auto Embed, then you can move it to the wall without any warning.
Thank you for the explanations! Yes, disabling the Auto Embed worked as well for me.
