Can't hide linked model element

Hello,

We are working on central files (Architectural, Civil, Fire, Plumbing, HVAC) each one is a separate file.

In architectural file we can hide elements in the structural linked model, Fire Fighting file can hide architectural elements as well, BUT!! in Plumbing file we can not hide elements of the architectural linked model!

Is there anything related Visibility/Graphics or anything else?

Thanks in advance

Is the Link visibility set to by Link or Custom? this would disable/gray out  Hide Element

  • If you can't TAB select linked elements then you may have Select Links disable.
  • If you can TAB select but cannot Hide then your link is set to by linked view.

I'm having this same issue working in a model that is live linked with BIM360. There is a filled region in the linked arch model coming through.

In the view template's visibility settings, the Revit link is set to "by host view". I've also tried changing to custom but cannot find any category for detail lines or regions that would turn it off.

Tab+right clicking the filled region works, but the hide by element and category selections are unavailable.

If you see the linked filled region meaning your link is either set to By Linked View or Custom, never By Host View.  In such case, you either change the link display to By Host View and the filled region should disappear; or Custom and set Linked View to None.
