Hi,
I have made a corrugated metal wall using Balkan architect's video :"Metal Sheet Cladding in Revit Tutorial".
When I place the corrugated metal wall, I can't place an opening directly on it, thus I made another generic wall behind the corrugated wall and placed it there.
In order to see the window, I need to cut the corrugated wall by using edit profile. But when I hit finish it gives me the error "Can't make type "Metal Sheet Cladding". When it is finished the corrugated curtain wall is gone and in its place there is glass wall.
Basically the "edit profile" lines have to be aligned with the corrugated wall grids to be properly cut. I was wondering if there is any way I can make openings without constantly having to align it with the curtain wall grids. Thank you!
Sorry, could you be a little bit more specific? Because I tried to form a void massing on the corrugated wall curtain wall and that didn't workout.
Use a Solid Mass - not a Void Mass.
BTW: Have you considered Edit Profile?
Are you doing corrugated as Panels or Mullions? Mullions will allow Edit Profile.
Curtain panels can only be cut with another solid (you can choose whatever category you want, but it has to be a solid. Void doesn't work on curtain panels). We always have a "solids for cutting" workset that's always turned off and never included in exports etc.
Use the join tool to join the affected curtain wall panels to the host wall behind.
