Can't change object styles for OH door families

The OH door family I have loaded into my model has a hidden line in plan to show the extents of the door in the open position. The family is set up so that the 'hidden line' object style is blue, which I want to be black. I have tried changing the object style in the family editor from blue to black but when I load it into my model, it still shows up as blue. On top of that, when I save the family and then re-open it, the object style is back to blue. How do I make the change permanent and workable in my model?

PS - I am attaching two different door families (from two different manufacturers) as they both have the same blue hidden line around their extents in plan and both appear to be recalcitrant about line colour editing.

I can't seem to replicate your issue. Maybe I misunderstanding. But, the Object Style of the Family is controlling its appearance just fine at my end.

Keep in mind the Object Styles don't get overridden why they are changed in the Family.  You got to change them in the Host Family or in the Project.

My problem got weirder but I've found a solution. After successfully changing the hidden line object colour in the family editor (and getting it to remain that way after closing and re-opening the family), the hidden lines were still showing up in my model as blue! I even deleted and purged the family from my model before reloading it!
I managed to fix it by changing the object style under the 'doors' category in my model instead of in the family editor. Not sure why it stayed that way in my model even after the family was purged and reloaded but what can you do?

HI

JUST SELECT YOUR DOOR AND THEN GO TO EDIT FAMILY

THEN IN MANAGE TAB YOU CAN SEE OBJECT STYLE (THE SECOND ICON) AND THAT IS ALL IN IT. YOU CAN SEE THE HIDDEN LINE WITH BLUE COLOR

I've had the exact same problem; I do exactly what you say; it doesn't change when I load it back into my project.  I also did what the OP did; delete from project, purge, edit the family separately, reload; all to no avail.  What??

Is the linework assigned to a Subcategory?  Probably is.  Look for that Subcategory in the Project's Object Styles, or in the Project View's Visibility and Graphic Overrides, and set (or override) the Line Pattern there.
