For the BPAC exercise, Energy Analysis Using Thermal Properties, I can't change the glazing properties of the curtain walls, only the windows which is easy in the Edit Type dialogue under Analytical Construction. The instructions make it sound straight forward. I am using Revit 2017 while the model is for Revit 2015.

Analytical properties still does not show up for curtain walls, only for windows. The exercise calls for changing the glazing on the windows and curtain walls of their model and then running an energy simulation. I also made sure that detailed elements was selected. Was that capability removed from Revit 2017 compared to Revit2015?
I made sure that it was selected, but the Type Properties seems unchanged.
It is attached and sounds like it should be in the same place as for changing window thermal properties.
If referring to mullions, I believe those thermal properties default to Conceptual Constructions. Follow link:
It isn't the mullion that they are after. If I can select the panel, I can get into the analytical construction. I was able to select a couple of them, but not in a way that I can replicate. It still wants to select the entire curtain wall or the mullion. Is there a good way to select the curtain wall panels?
I can't select the panel intentionally. I did it by accident twice, but can't do it again.
Not following you.
There are 2 way to select the panel: 1) by tab-select method, or 2) through the Project Browser. Are you saying you cannot select them at all?
I still haven't been able to select the panel again.
How do I select them in the Project Browser? I tried double clicking curtain panels under families and can get into analytical construction to change the glazing. I assume that would change the value for all curtain panels. Do you know the difference between 'Glazed' and 'Glazed 2'? I still don't see a way to select an individual panel in project browser.
What is the tab select method? I tried holding tab while selecting with no luck.
tab-select by hovering mouse over the curtain wall and hitting the tab key. As you do so, different curtain wall components will highlight blue. When the component that you want to select highlights: click it to select it. You'd think the class would have covered that before getting into Energy Analysis.
...oh, and to do it through the Project Browser, just locate the curtain panel you are using in your curtain wall under the Project Browser, select it, right-click, open Type Properties and scroll down to Analytical Properties. Do you know how to determine the Curtain Panel the Curtain Wall is using?
It isn't easy, but I have been able to select individual panels now with tab select. It seems like going through the whole building would be pretty time consuming using tab select. Maybe using a combination of zoom and orbit could select the few panels that I haven't been able to select.
No, I don't know how to determine the panel the curtain wall is using. I only see curtain panels under families. Do you know the difference between 'Glazed' and 'Glazed 2'? I can get into analytical construction there by double clicking.
@Anonymous: You don't need to go through each and every curtain panel. Just select the curtain wall and check under its Type Properties for the Curtain Panel that is assigned to it (betcha it's "Glazed 2"), and then go to the Project Browser, look under Families:Curtain Panels for that curtain panel name . Right-click on it and select Type Properties to view and/or change the Analytical Properties assigned to that particular panel. Those Analytical Properties apply to ALL the panels of that name because IT'S A TYPE PROPERTY, not an Instant Property. You don't need to tab-select every single panel in the curtain wall.
Does this help? Hope so.
Since you asked about "Glazed 2": While in a 3D view showing all the curtain walls in the project, go into the Project Browser and right-click on "Glazing 2", and then click on "Select all Instances: Visible in View". This will highlight every single "Glazed 2" panel in all of the curtain walls shown the view. Alternatively, you can select "Select all Instances: In Entire Project" and it will not only highlight those in the view, but also report, at the top of the Properties Pallet, how many total exist in the Project. If you don't see a count - that type hasn't been used anywhere in the project.
Thanks for the solution credit. Good luck.
