Hi everyone,
I've a problem regarding a linked model I would like to bind but I can't.
The only error message I get is "Unable to bind model".
I checked the forum and found semi-solutions which didn't solved the problem but lead me the right way.
If I remove the structural components - columns, beams, connections, etc. - I'm able the bind linked model.
My question is: What causes the problem with (or inside) the structural component?

I suspect a corrupted element. Can you open the Link directly with Audit checked? Check warnings too. Could be a corrupted view as well.
it could be there are some groups in the linked model try to ungroup and see if helps. thanks
I've tried both suggestions.
I can open the model without errors and I've removed all groups.
The problem is the structural components.
how big is your file? is there anyway you can share here so we can check. thanks
how did you solve this? Because I think I am having the exact same issue for the same reasons. I have identified it is my structural elements work set, so I know it's either my steels or structural connections
Hi,
I deleted the structural components and placed them manually after I binded the other components.
Ah crap.
Cos for me it is the Architect we have sent our model to can't bind it into their model, and I can't exactly ask them to place the structural connections in manually themselves! ![]()
Thanks anyway!
