Can't add additional Category to Project parameter

Hi

I'm trying to add a category to a Project Parameter that was missed out - (Cobie Yes/no instance parameter from the IOT) but it wont let me add new categories and displayed the attached error message.

Anyone know how to resolve this. I assumed that adding categories was fairly simple and straightforward.

Regards,

i think you have this parameter you can just Edit Parameter to add Categories.

I've done this process but am unable to add additional categories to the established parameter. I can't create new one as it's created by the interoperability tool and us linked to COBie setup.

ask your admin. maybe you don't have permission to add new category.if not so edit your parameter and click the category in the left of screen or use another name like "CoBie setup"

Please explain what you mean by "add a category to a Project Parameter that was missed out".

What it sounds like to me is that you want to add an EXISTING Project Parameter (Cobie) that another Category.  Find the Project Parameter, Edit it and check the Category you want to include.

...I need a  lot more information from you to be able to provide you with a solution.

The IOT was setup - this populates all the COBie project parameters and then you can select what categories are the COBie parameters will appear in. In my case "specialty equipment " was missed and needs to be added. I have followed the steps above and i am not able to add anymore categories. There are 2no. COBie parameters - one is an Instance for COBie.Component and one is a Type for COBie.type. I can add categories in the Type parameter by the methods above but not the instance.

The Interoperability tool lists the added COBie Parameters and doesn't allow for adding additional parameters or remapping.

This is the COBie interoperability tool for setting up and exporting to COBie data sheets - also allowing COBie export into IFC models.

This can be installed as part of a Custom package when you install Revit. When you set up the tool it adds COBie parameter for Type and Instance to be associated with the required elements in the model.

Maybe youve dealt with this before.

Outputs sheets like this for End Stage handovers and Facilities project management

Elements you want in the list can be selected by a COBie instance Yes/No tick box. And this is the problem that i have - i can add categories and therefore the items i need wont appear on the list above.

No, I never use this, we don't need this yet 😆.

as the Revit user I don't trust the API because they never work well, if i need some thing , I write it by myself.
