Can not delete sketch lines when editing an existing profile

I have had this issue for a while now, sometimes, id say about 1% of the time, when I go to edit a profile of something i can not delete any of the pink sketch lines. I can drag them and move them wherever I like, but no matter what I cant delete them. Sometimes syncing will clear up the issue but more times than not I have to close entirely out of the model and even that wont work all the time.

Would love any suggestions of what I am doing that might cause this, and if anyone has a work around. It sucks when you have edited 100 lines in a profile and you go to remove one last one and you cant, so the whole sketch is invalid which therefore wastes a ton of time. Thank in advance!

That indicates they were created by Pick 3D not Sketch so you need to activate the Pick option instead and click on edges to add/remove them.

Unfortunately this is occurring in cases where Pick 3D was not used at all. Its typically on a wall that has had its profile edited in the past by just drawing sketch lines freehand, say to make an opening for a fireplace in a finish layer. Then when it needs to be edited in the future I run into this issue,

Dang I was hoping for a second it was going to be that simple! Thank you for the quick response and thoughts.

Sorry, I assumed you were talking about editing a family.

Editing the profile of a wall there has to be a closed boundary and the initial sketch lines are pinned, constrained to the perimeter of the wall. If you sketch additional lines they should be "free" to deleted. If you change the shape of perimeter of the wall then you should be able to alter those lines once they have been unpinned. Usually a prompt appears about breaking that constraint. If you've disabled selecting pinned elements that might be interfering.

If you can repeat this situation then do some screen captures to illustrate the situation, that will help narrow down the possible cause.

1% of the time? So, 99% of the time, things go merrily? Better than my average.  Count your blessings.

I have the same problem, I've attached a video. I have a concrete slab that I cannot delete the sketch lines. If I delete the slab a lot of information in views will be deleted.

Post the file.

You only use the right click > delete in the video. What about the delete button on the ribbon or the backspace or delete keys on the keyboard?

Does your company use the 3rd party application Guardian? There were instances where certain actions were being blocked by Guardian in other threads here.

Hello,

I only use the right click delete so that you could see what I was trying to do but yes I've tried every other delete button option possible. We do use guardian, do you have any ideas what setting that keeps it from deleting?

I don't know about Guardian's settings specifically. It might be a need for an update only. It could also be specific functions are disabled for certain users or tasks. In the situation identified earlier it was the inability to use the Delete key for toposolid points IIRC.
