Hello,
My firm has recently updated our Revit software, including Revit 2017, with the shift to the new subscription model. In the previous version of Revit, I was able to work in 3D Perspective view and edit the profiles and boundaries of elements such as walls, ceilings, floors, and model-in-place components. This option is now no longer accessable while in 3D Perspective view, but returns in a conventional plan view or isometric 3D view.
Does anyone have any information on why the perspective views would be behaving in this way when they were previously allowing this functionality? Please let me know if you have any suggestions to setting to check, or any information that would help me edit in 3D perspective again. I have come to rely on this workflow quite a bit as I also use the Autodesk Live software for VR visualization and having the ability to edit in 3D is critical to being able to clean up the geometry of a model in a timely and intuitive manner. Thank you in advance.

Odd...works for me...have 2017.2 installed.
Is the view locked by chance? (nevermind...that doesn't do anything)
Looks like you are missing your entire modify toolbar.
I'd check to make sure all the correct display drivers are installed on your system. Go Revit options and select Graphics and see if you are getting an error message. You may have to turn off Hardware Acceleration too.
Thanks for your reply.
The view is not locked. The graphics card is a Quatro K series card which Autodesk does not list as 'certified' but, as I mentioned, this did not affect things prior to the update from the previous software. I've also tested this on our VR rig with an nVidia GTX 1080 and have the same results of being unable to edit boundaries or do pretty much anything in the modify tab as you've mentioned.
I've just tested turning Hardware Acceleration off and it does not seem to have had any impact.
It's also worth noting that double clicking on the objects also does not allow for them to be edited as it did previously and as it continues to do in all other view types. This leads me to thing that it's less of a graphical issue and more to do with the program not giving 'permission' to edit in perspective 3D as it behaves in Revit 2015 or other Revit versions before perspective 3D editing was implemented. See below for screen grab of the options tab (before I turned off hardware acceleration):
Like I said....you are missing your toolbar info.
Check your display settings, do you have display zoom higher than 150%? If so change it, as Revit doesn't work well above 150%.
As for double clicking, that can be modified in the Options.
Something else to try...open another project and see if it works there. Perhaps there are issues with your current project?
I don't believe it's a graphic display issue. I understand that the toolbar is missing, but, as I said, the program is behaving as if editing permissions are locked out in 3D perspective, such as it did in earlier version of Revit before this feature was implemented. I have attempted this in multiple Revit files and all exhibit the same behavior that I've described.
I've attached a screenshot of editing a floor in isometric 3D view and the Modify options are clearly visible and I'm able to edit the floor. I've also attached an image of my double click options where editing sketched elements is set to on (I am also able to edit these elements by double clicking on them in any other view).
EDIT: Revit Build / Version info:
17.0.416.0

Are Lines turned on in the camera view?

Uh...yeah, that is fresh OOTB install there. You are quite a few updates behind...
I appreciate that you're trying to help, mpwuzhere, but your tone is incredibly condescending. Thanks anyway.
Yep, this was it. Thank you, ToanDN!
It turns out our software 'upgrade' was effectively a downgrade back to the basic install and I wasn't aware. Thanks for helping me work through it and I'll make sure I pass along to the rest of the folks in our office that they will have to reinstall all of the patches once we make the transition.
Cheers!

Just throwing out ideas...it's hard to decipher what is going on just from screen shots. Posting a model helps a lot, but is not always feasible.
In your original screenshot though I saw that you have Option Sets...make sure in your 3D view you are in that option that the floor is on is selected in the view properties.
Edit: Glad that was the issue with the versions.....what is odd is it shouldn't have opened the model if it was created in a later version..
I don't find anything wrong with @Anonymous posts. It's an internet forum so most of us don't polish our words to get the point across, is that why?
Maybe you are just frustrated with the issue... Relax.
