Can I use a sloped floor for a beam system work plane?

I saw a Youtube vid on creating a slightly sloped roof and using that for a work plane for a beam system. I assumed I could create a floor, (which I created to represent the deck sheathing) Then I sloped the floor. I created the beam system prior to creating the floor and I'm trying to change the work plane to the floor so it has a slope.

Unless someone has an easier way to model 2x8 deck joists presumably as a beam system, and the add a 1.5% slope to the deck.

I guess I should add that I keep selecting the beam system and selecting edit work plane, and pick new host. Neither is working. When I select an edge of the floor the beams orient vertically.

Update- I am getting it to use the floor as a host and it is adapting the slope. But every time I retry, selecting the floor as a host, the beam system flips over and is completely flipped 180 degrees.

It is preferable to use refernce planes over surfaces/faces of elements. Those beams flip (the Z vector) based on the orientation of the surface/host. It is more complicated to flip the orientation of elments compared to Reference planes

Moreover, when or if needed, flipping the orientation of a reference place is easy. Simply go to a section >>> grab one end grip >> slide it over to the opposit side

I was trying to associate it with the reference plane after creating it and I never got it to work. So I recreated the beam system like you illustrated here and it worked great.

Thank You
