Having a wee problem with calculations within a wall schedule
I can create a wall type and wall schedule to calculate the area of a specific type of wall. That is the easy bit.
The complicated bit is that one of my wall types is insulation and the insulation will wrap around structural framing. I don't have time to wrap the insulation around all of the members at this stage of my project, just now all i need is a rough estimate for costing and weight calcs. In excel i would add a column called wrapping factor for example 1.5 and i would get excel to multiply the wrapping factor by the wall area. So if the wall area is 100sqm and the wrapping factor is 1.5 my total wall area will be 150sqm.
I have created a new "type" parameter and called it wrapping factor and when i do that i can enter a value of 1.5 or whatever i want.
Then i create a calculated parameter called total area and go formula and enter area*wrapping factor hit enter and the total area field is always empty.
This seems so simple but for the life of me i can not get this to work
If you can help me i will really appreciate it

I think you are may be grouping the walls.
From formatting tab, make sure that Total Area is calculating Totals

@paulday1976I guess this may be your issue, if I am not right, just let me know, You created a Wrapping factor as a type parameter for walls which you are using.,
After you created a wall schedule , In that schedule field you added the calculated parameter like this., here you have to follow like this.
