I'm trying to import a cad file with just one visible layer, but the layer isn't visible in revit.
- the layer is on in V/G.
- the layer is the only visible layer in the CAD file.
- the layer is visible if i import the cad file with all layers visible.

is the "Layer" not coming in or is the content from the layer not coming in?

could it be under Revit elements? Have you tried to bring it forward? As well you might want to check that the scale/units are correct
I dont think it's under Revit elements. I've looked through all of the V/G tabs, and it's not in there, should I look somewhere else? I've also tried selecting it using dynamo, but it says "Can't select hidden element".
Did you get a warning while it was linking? Such as advising you that it would not be visible? If so then a view setting is preventing it from being visible, such as Active Workset or V/G imported Categories etc.
What is the element(s) in the CAD file? Some elements are not recognized in Revit, such as points or regions. AEC Elements require the file being saved with Proxygraphics being "on" so their symbolic representation is visible in Revit.

no warning when linking. The elements are TextElements (room names and number), so they should be readable by revit. The layer is on in V/G imported categories
Worksharing/Worksets? What workset are the Type and Instance parameters for the link assigned to? Are the text elements at an elevation (above zero "Z") in the CAD file? Can you share the DWG?

Not sure I understand what you mean, I'm using an Architectural template, is that the workset? The DWG is at Z = 0. How do I send the DWG here?
Hi, @Anonymous .... could you zip up the model & DWG for review and post it to WeTransfer, Google Drive, etc. and share the link? Having the model to look at will help the troubleshooting process.

Thanks for the files. So first you need to set the Scope Box to NONE for that view. Then, if you import the DWG using these settings...
...it'll show up in plan view like this...
You can then set the scope box BACK to Scope Box 1 for that view.
