Caculated Values in Revit using text.

In simplest terms possible I am trying to understand how calculated values work in Revit. Basically, I want to have a scheduled field that if it the text matches a certain value it will update another column to be one value or another. I think I am missing something here or maybe this is not possible. My example I am trying to get the word hello to either populate B1 or B2 in a different column, but it is telling me it's inconsistent units. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here.

You cannot use a text parameter to drive a formula.  Use a numeric (number, integer, length, etc...) parameter or a yes/no parameter instead.

I think this makes sense. So here I have a yes no parameter base don the check marks and I'm trying to populate a new column with 'okay' and 'not okay' based on the check mark selected.. but it still doesn't seem to work..

here is how it works:

- a yes/no parameter, name it [Input]

- tick or untick boxes for this parameter, don't leave box grey

- a text parameter, name it  [Output]

- use this formula for the [Output]: if ([Input], "Okay", "not Okay")

Hi maybe you are trying to make a boolean formula with yes no parameters

Almost looks like you want a Key Schedule.

If you are unfamiliar with Key Schedules, take a look at this video:

Ahhh this is fantastic as well. I think I will probably end up using these in the future. Thanks!
