buy LOD 400+ revit models

Hello, I'm doing some research around BIM models and contractors with how different level of details would  effect efficiency. We need to purchase some models in higher details, ideally LOD 400+. I've looked a few places but didn't find anything that's close to that. Was wondering if anyone has recommended online store, or I should find architecture firm to purchase directly.

Thanks for your answer.

Generally, at LOD 400, we're into specific systems and assemblies, and it's more about 2D information, both graphical and non-graphical.  You can find a wealth of information and content available for free, directly from Manufacturers' websites.

Thank you for your reply. I know there's cut sheets from Manufacturers website but I was more interested in a whole model that's already been built.

I'm not referring to just cut sheets.  But to clarify: are you looking for model components or a "whole" building/project?

Sorry, we're temporarily out-of-stock on 400s.

Seriously though: what do you mean by a "whole project"?  There's  no such thing as a LOD400 "Project".  Could you be a little more specific?

LOD 400+ model isn't something you can buy, but it is something your firm has to develop for your firm specific workflow. Also it is highly depended on contractual between your firm and client. Manufacturer can provide the information if you ask, but it is your firm developing relationship with those manufacturer.

Architects and engineer don't build their models up to LOD 400.  If someone did then they will be sitting in a park feeding pigeons very soon.  Some manufacturers can build their product models up to LOD 400 but they mean nothing without being put together in a project with all other support components being built for fabrication and installation.  So for a typical project, the only one may have a complete LOD 400 model are the General Contractor and the Owner's Facility Manager.  Those two are probably busy suing the architects, the engineers, and one another, than  having time on the internet sharing their LOD 400 model.

I think you will have a better chance buying Stormy Daniel than buying a LOD 400 model.  Maybe you should build one yourself and start raking in money.

We're an A/E firm and we've just received two signed contracts to develop LOD400 models (our first ones). HVAC and plumbing for two different projects. So yes, engineers *do* have to do LOD400 models at times. Typically we're in the LOD300-350 area.

I am interested to know how it works out with your subs, especially the liability aspect.  Do they agree deduct the cost to build their trade fabrication models on their end and construct based from your LOD400 model?  How about shops drawings?  Are you going to produce shops drawings and review them internally as well?

Oh and if things work out you can sell the model to OP and get rich easily.

But the OP is looking for a LOD 400 PROJECT, @ToanDN.  I still don't know what he means by that.  I don't think he knows either.

@pkolarik says his firm will be creating a LOD400 model project, which is precisely what OP wants.

HVAC and Plumbing is what I understood.

...I think I understand your point.  I'm thinking too broadly. I'm thinking the overall deliverable, not the sub-deliverables.

Good afternoon! Interesting post and replies. Funny thing is my request is similar!

I am a Purdue doctoral student working on fully automating wood construction cost estimation. I am looking for modeled wood construction components at a level of detail 300, 400 or 500. Basically, i am looking to export these components to IFC and extract some quantities automatically. The reason i am looking for a 400 o above is I am trying to eliminate the "guess-work' sometimes involved in estimating. e.g a model where one can retrieve the stud spacing ad etc. Maybe my fist question should be is it possible to model such?

Please does anyone have modeled components/elements they can share? And I will be referencing my source.
