I have about 100 sheets with the following number format:
BMK-0000-001
BMK-0000-002
The 0000 represents the project number. I need to change this project number for all the sheets and am wondering why there is just no option to bulk change this? I thought if I went into the sheet list schedule I could do a find and replace but that doesn't work. Is there just no way to do this other than manually changing each one?

I would suggest using DiRoots Addin, the only other good option is an addin with an Excel bidirectional link!
Create Revit Sheets and Place Views with SheetGen - DiRoots
I can find how to bulk rename sheets using DiRoots, but I can't find bulk renumbering? I'm probably looking in the wrong place.

Do you want the project number shows in call-out bubbles, elevation tags, and section tags? That would make them very long? If you only show it in the sheet index schedule and the title block then simply add the Project Number parameter to combine parameters and label.
I was thinking the same thing. Adding the project or other numbers to the sheet number is very un-wieldy. I've never ever seen plans with that long sheet numbers. It goes a bit against what a sheet number is. Like if you have a book and each page has a number. You don't add the name of the book to each page number.
I use a project (and contract) number parameter that shows them on the title block. In my case it doesn't show as part of the sheet number. But you can do what ToanDN said and make it look like it is one sheet number.
I should have done this, not sure why I wasn't doing it already. Thanks.
I thought the Question was to bulk change all the sheet names?
But 100% agree with previous comments on a sheet name with several different references should be individual and combined to read as required which I assumed it was.
We use ISO 19650 Naming conventions for sheets which are quite long and DiRoots has saved us lots of time and effort in creating combinations of parameters for sheets and subsequent revisions!
