Hello Ladies and Gents,

I am trying to figure out if I do the building pad in the Building model GFP of residential building instead of foundation floor.
Will the linked pad of the Building model cut through the topo in the (topo) site plan model when I linked the building model in?
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated
TIA

No...

  1. Building pads are treated as a site component. They go in the Site model, not the building model
  2. Building pads and Foundation floors should not be substituted one by the other. Each is an element and each has a function.

Building pads only cut topo in the same file so you need to create the pads in the site file or create the topo and pads in the building file. I agreed with @RDAOU about the scoping. It may not be apparent in small projects but for medium or large protects, site scope and building scope are quite distinctive. For yours, consider the building pad as a protection slab (rat slab) under the actual building foundation.
