BUGS ➪ ➪ REVIT 2021 BUGS

… ➪ there are a couple of bugs in the latest 2021 release

… @Viveka_CD , @loboarch

1 …. decals in realistic view

… decals only work if they are applied to a wall, floor or ceiling

…. if decal is applied to a family – any family or any model in-place - doesn’t work as they have been perfectly working in “all” previous releases

… images showing always incorrectly

3.jpg

.... another example

tv (3).jpg

2 … archvision rpc’s showing wrong in real time realistic views

…. like a billboard in any setting

… “and this is the only way to see how they will look like before rendering”… BAD

… if you insert an RPC those show only one flat plain view no matter what you do

…. take a look at videos

.... revit 2020

.... revit 2021

3 … missing libraries content

…. many libraries missing like entourage content

…. and so many more ….

… most of the libraries are there but not the entire content

… I will be posting more bugs as they appear ….

Item #3 is related to a change made in the Revit 2021 installer.  This is documented in the Installation Changes in This Release section of the Revit 2021 online help:
Default content is not installed with software installation. Only the core content (templates and sample files) needed to run the software is installed during software installation. Base families for US, UK, and German can be selected during installation. Additional content can be downloaded from: Content Download Page

I’m also having similar problems with the decals in the projects since version 2021 was installed on my computer yesterday. I am always using a bunch of decals in my interior design projects. Now they don't show at all.

What can I do to get a fix? Thank you.

Gracias

Construcciones Aldemar.

Yes, I have the same issue. The trees, everything, entourage from Archvision looks like SKETCHUP people. That are flat like a paper. And always facing one way – THE SAME WAY.

This is really BAD as architectjm implies.

How or where to create a REPORT PROBLEM for these issues? As in here I can’t see more answers from AUTODESK. I don’t know if this is enough.Revit 2021Revit 2021SketchupSketchup

We are having the same problem with decals.

and the problem with the Archivision entourage is that they are facing allways the same way so for me to get those working I need to keep rendering the region to see if they will show the right way, very annoying inddeed.

My decals or images are not working as well since I have installed Revit 2021.

Has someone find a solution for these issues? Thanks. I am experiencing all of the above. I guess Autodesk needs to create a HotFix for these issues ASAP.

Hello,

I wanted to make some comments for items 1 and 2 I hope will help.

Item 1 was a bug with decals placed on loaded families and is fixed in Revit 2021.1.

Item 2 was by design but we have received feedback it is confusing, so we have it on the roadmap to resolve this issue. The intent was to make Realistic views much faster in Revit 2021. Non-billboard RPC slow down views considerably and use more memory in any product, and not Just Revit. By having the RPC content face forward Realistic views are many, many times faster and we did have requests to have them behave this way in general. Currently under consideration is a feature to add an option so customers can choose the legacy display of RPC in a Realistic if they prefer to pay the performance cost to have the RPC content not face forward in these views.

Thanks,

Steve

I came across something odd in Revit 2021. Printing a 3D view as Realistic causes the crop boundary and section box to print as well. Does not happen with any other visual style. Turning on shadows in hidden line for example does not cause these objects to print. Does not happen with Revit 2020 0r 2022. Tested Revit 2021 and multiple versions with different updates. 2021.1.2, 2021.1.5

Thank you. Yes, this was found and fixed in Revit 2022. I think you will find it is only the hide crop regions checkbox in the print dialog that is not working for realistic views in 2021. If you actually hide them or turn them off in the views they will print correctly.
