I have modelled a turnbuckle rod family. The family has a nested line-based turnbuckle rod. Flexing the X Y values in the family editor behaves correctly. Flexing and changing the type inside the project demonstrates that the rod ignores the values. See attached project which demonstrates the problem.

@ToanDNit's definitely a bug / problem with Revit .
I made a tiny minimal demo project of the glitch. See attached.
When a nested line-based family is set to obtain it's length parameter from an outer family parameter ( the problem occurs with either a type-based or instance-based length parameter) the nested length is not adjusted correctly.
The demo project shows the outer family with a dimension set to 8'-0 and the geometry stuck at 4'-0.
Inside the family editor, the line based nested family behaves correctly. Only when loaded in the project does the problem manifest.
you create Family the Line Base.rft.
You just need a lock.
this is an internal Revit problem over calculate which one first.your family calculate the Angle but not Length so fast.
