Hi,
I try to bring in front of a view some specific line styles.
Just to be accurate, I'm not trying to do that with details, but with some hidden lines of elements which are overrided colored. Actually, I want to highlight them and I don't want to have them behind cut line for example.
Any idea to perform that?
More generaly, is that any way to manage the line ordering in a view?
Many thanks, O.
Hi @Anonymous
I'm not sure i understood what did you meen but if you just want to control draw order of annotation you need to use arrange command after you pick the line that you want to bring to front or set to back.
Just like in Autocad
Hoped i helped you
I'm not sure I understand either, but it sounds like your're trying to re-order MODEL LINES. You can't. But you can use a Graphic Display Option tool called Depth Cueing to control how elements that are farther away from the view cut plane display in section and elevation views.
...I'll add also: don't forget about Thin Lines. Linework is going to look a whole lot different when Thin Lines is turned off.
Many thanks for your answers, but unfortunately it's not what I'm looking for.
Let me try to explain in another way.
In plan and elevation views, when a element is placed behind another it's represented with "hidden lines" which makes sens. Revit draws theses lines behind lines like "cut lines" or "visible lines" (see the screen shot attached). What I'm looking for is bringing these "hidden lines" in front of the other lines. It could be odd but same time these hidden lines are more important then the others.
Any clue to have the green dashed line in front of the black continus line?
Hi barthbradley,
no they are just hidden lines overrided in green.
Of course afterwards the color is not a good choice... sorry for that!
The same in orange ![]()
I'm sorry @Anonymous, but I am confused why the hidden lines -- unless you're talking about Show Hidden Lines, which is totally controllable in the view (and discipline). Still, if the lines are MODEL LINES, it's not possible to change the hierarchy in the view. This is determined by the CUT PLANE of the view -- accepting of any view overrides.
